Sometimes, we experience difficulty with life's struggles and can't quite figure out how to focus and navigate through the drama. There comes a time when support is needed from a licensed professional to help you learn how to cope with life’s many challenges. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist here to help you learn how to navigate through your struggles and find your balance.
A Bit About Therapy
Therapy is a collaborative relationship which requires participation and investment from both the client and therapist alike. It can be highly effective when a person is seeking help with issues that are causing them dysfunction. However, therapy can also be highly effective when a person is simply seeking guidance when feeling stuck and in need of therapeutic support that their immediate support system is unable to provide.
It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix nor is it only to be used when you're not doing well in life. In the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior, improving self-talk, and coping with unhealthy feelings can bring about positive life-altering results.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years in the mental health field, I've had the pleasure of working with individuals, couples, and families from a variety of backgrounds. I am a proud ally to the LGBTQIA community. I earned my MS in Educational Psychology, from USC, in 1998 and my MA in Counseling Psychology, from National University, in 2014.
Providing Telehealth services solely, I work with clients who experience difficulty with finding healthy solutions and are seeking guidance in learning how to move forward in their lives. Utilizing CBT, Solution Focused, and Humanistic approaches, I collaborate with the client to help guide them toward healthy living.
I guide my clients every step of the way and implement various methods to help them develop new attitudes towards all of life’s most complex matters.
In my therapy sessions, we’ll work to solve problems, navigate through obstacles, and decrease negative thinking with the goal of eliminating it all together. I will help you “re-frame” your reactions and provide you with valuable tools to cope with life’s challenges.
I am a certified Trauma Focused CBT Therapist. Using empathy, guidance, and support, my goal is for the client to learn how to effectively process and work through their trauma.
Substance and Alcohol Abuse
In working with the client to identify and understand the underlying issues that have lead to their excessive use, the client and I work toward developing helpful tools to better manage their lives without the use of drugs and/or alcohol.
Grief & Loss
Experiencing loss, on any magnitude, can have a devastating effect on a person. Processing and allowing yourself to deal with all of the emotions that emerge as a result of the event is a step toward healing.
In my therapy sessions, we’ll work to solve current problems and improve positive thinking and behavior. I will help you “re-frame” your reactions and provide you with valuable tools to cope with life’s challenges.
